The U.S. Coast Guard recently released recreational boating statistics for 2013. For the year, the Coast Guard reports 4,062 accidents, involving 560 deaths, 2,620 injuries, and approximately $39 million dollars of damage to property. The 2013 statistics, however, do show a reduction in overall number of accidents from the previous year—down 10%. Similarly, the number of deaths in 2013 decreased 14% and the number of injuries decreased 12.7%. For more information, read the complete report here.
